gostress-survey
===============

gostress is a stress test for the Go runtime. gostress-survey is an add on which
lets you run each test case separately and generates an html report.

How does it work?
=================

gostress-survey creates a separate .go file for each test case. It executes
this test case as 100 separate threads. GOMAXPROCS is set at 10, so only 10
of those 100 are executed at once. If the test case fails, then the concurrency
has introduced a bug.

Some test cases were never written with concurrency in mind, thus we've created
a `blacklist` (Found in the root directory of the project). If any test is failing
because it is simply written without concurrency in mind, we add it to the
blacklist. This, hopefully, enables us to say that when a bug is reported by this program, it
is due to a Go runtime issue.

Getting Started
===============

Prepare $GOROOT for gostress:

cd $GOROOT/src
./all.bash

cd ~
git clone git://github.com/GideonRed/Gostress-survey.git

cd Gostress-survey
./survey.sh

Instead of running all.bash, you could also run "make test" in
$GOROOT/src/pkg to prepare $GOROOT for gostress.

TODO
====

Elaborate the blacklist

Clean up code, and improve portability
