Performance Monitoring using WebSockets README, way-too-tired edition
=======================

Foreword
-----------------------
Here be a repository of Team M, proud students of the University of Glasgow, that have created it in the Anno Domini 2013. In our scholarly pursuit we worked to teach a machine, powered by lightning, to watch over the other machines, also powered by lightning, in the hope that they will serve faithfully to their respectful owners. We welcome thou, a brave wanderer, to gasp upon our creation, and we hope that thou will find what thou seek.

What is contained here

Though many crates are kept in these mouldy vaults, only four of them do actually matter. In one that is labeled *documentation* thou will find our dissertation consealed. Then there are three that store the three heads of our teaching to the machines. The *client*, *daemon* and *server* are they called. Combine those heads into one being thou shall do, to beatheth life to them and to embrace upon their rightful nature.

How to bring this teaching to machines

By this point I run out of improvised broken literary English, so just to get to the point: Installation notes.

The Client will become accessible on the 8080 port once you deploy the Server.

To run the Server one has to install Go, starting from the version 1.1 upwards. It is better to do so manually from the http://golang.org website. Then you need all the dependencies, for them there is a server/server/shell/server_install.sh, however, edit it and comment out 4th line that installs Go. Technically, this script should do *all* the work, but at the moment of writing Go package is too old on the ubuntu repositories. One has to copy this whole project (starting from the folder 'eos') into a directory called src. The one has to setup a GOPATH variable, or change it in the "deploy_" scripts to point to the folder *containing src* (not including src in the path). After that server/deploy_beta.sh script should work, and it will create a server in the beta direcotry. Just run ./server from there, and you will get both Server and the Client running.

To install the Daemon one has to run a make command in the daemon directory and hopefully that will be enough.
